This course focuses on traditional drawing methods, exploring still life, cast, portrait, and figure drawing through careful observation and structured techniques. Students will develop an understanding of proportion, value, light, and form while strengthening their observational drawing skills. Studies will be completed from references, including master drawings inspired by historical atelier training. Drawing exercises will emphasise observational skills, shape design, edge control, and the construction of three-dimensional form.
For the first class you will need: some drawing paper, pencils, charcoal, an eraser, and something to sharpen your pencils and charcoal with (ideally some sandpaper).
