What happens at this event?

Ever fascinated by the scene of the potter’s wheel work? Come to joint us for a term of wheel-throwing, and try it out yourself! In this term class, you will learn all the basics of how to use a potter’s wheel. From wedging clay, centering the clay onto the wheel, throwing, trimming, applying underglaze, and glazing it yourself. You will gain knowledge from the beginning to the finish, and take home your own ceramic creation! Beginners and returning student welcome.

Students must be within the stated Ages : 13-19

All materials are supplied for youth classes unless stated otherwise.

Can I enroll my child that has medical conditions (i.e: Allergies, ADHD, Autism, Neurodiversity, etc. )
You must advise us of any medical conditions and/or special learning needs prior to the first class (09 478 2237 or info@mairangiarts.co.nz). This will allow the tutor to provide the best learning environment for your child. All such information will remain confidential with staff and tutor
Do you do trial lessons?
No we do not, We can however arrange a class visit which is a different procedure and offers insight into our classes for a small amount of time without active participation. You must email info@mairangiarts.co.nz prior to this visit, with the class you are interested in and the times and we will arrange this with you.
